Some food was a little salty but the portion sizes are generous. Too much batter on tempura items. The menu is Canadianized as are most Chinese restaurants but I found they have more items to choose from. The Specials that they have for Families of 4 or 5 are pretty decent. Fast service and a convenient location with easily accessible parking.

Deb's Place is a great place for Breakfast....we have gone several times, either just my wife and I or with other couples.
Food is excellent...service is prompt and courteous, and price is right!
Also....if you are ever having a party function at your house....Deb does a fantastic job of Catering and very reasonable!

Great place 2 go 4 an all day breakie! Don't let the outside of it turn u away as its not a 'dive'! When I speak 2 others about it the constant response I get is ...'it's looks like a 'dive' & looks like it would be dirty in there!' Have had breakfast, lunch and dinner at McReilly's many times over the years and the food, service and atmosphere is consistently good. Have eaten at some of the other pubs in Barrie, and although the food may be marginally better, they don't have the consistency that McReilly's does.

Stopped in after my wife found it on the 'net. I had the Chicken Pad Thai which is by far the tastiest dinner I've eaten in a long time. Filling too, almost needed a doggie bag. This is my first review, which I felt compelled to write seeing a negative one here. Don't believe it, this place is clean, nicely decorated and you can't beat the food. We chatted with the owner for about 15 minutes. Polite to a fault. I'm definitely coming back. And it's 2.5 hours away.

I went in a short while ago, and fell in love. The service is something very special. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff.
As for the food.
I had chicken coconut soup, followed by Scallops and risotto.
It was one of the top 3 meals I've ever experienced.
It is a little pricey, but if you feel like treating yourself, or you're trying to impress your date, this is a great little spot.

One of my favorite restaurants in Barrie. We've been here many times for many special occasions. We always enjoy the food and experience every time we go. Today we tried his brunch menu and it was really good as well. We had the Eggs Benny and Breakfast Poutine, along with a side of the homemade onion and apple sausages. Delicious. Now if all brunch tasted like that I'd eat brunch a lot more often.

I dont understand the previous negative reviews...?
I have been going here for years and the food has been always good. I have never received bad service. The service is average but never bad.
Everything is fresh and tasty. Our favourites are Dynamite roll, Volcano Roll, Bonsai Roll to name a few..
Don't listen to the previous negative reviews - makes no sense why they are complaining!

great service, been several times even on fridays when they are extremely busy with dining and take out we still get the great halibut which they are known for.
have been going since 1987 and still appreciate that they hand cut fillets of halibut daily. servers are friendly , not a large wine list but have by the glass at very reasonable prices. very happy with the family fish and chip business which started in toronto in the early 50s. note all salads homemade
