The Greek restaurant Stepho's, which is just down the street, is much more popular than Taki's, but in my opinion Taki's is far superior. I know Stepho's is really cheap and they give you a ton of food but Taki's is by no means expensive and the quality of the food is much better. Take my advice and avoid the long lines at Stepho's for a seat at Taki's. Lire plus

Maria's is a Kitsilano institution. The atmosphere is everything you would expect a Greek restaurant to offer complete with pictures of Greek scenery adorning the walls. The food is really good and even my wife who is not the biggest fan of Greek food loves the food at Maria's. I usually have what I had on our most recent visit...one of the souvlaki dinners. Our most recent trip I had chicken souvlaki and the chicken was perfectly tender and the potatoes and rice were great too. Next time you have a hankering for Greek food visit Maria's Taverna on 4th! Switched over to this Greek restaurant from another in the area and i'm glad I did. The staff is super friendly and you are treated like you are part of their family. This is the best restaurant in all of Victoria! I celebrated my birthday here with a group of 10 friends and everyone, including the vegans in the group had a great dinner! The staff, the music, and the atmosphere make you relaxed and this is always our first choice when we go out to eat. I can't say enough great things about this restaurant except try it yourself! I’d say 3.5 really at the most, waitress was fantastic. Chefs don’t know their cook times. Steak I asked for medium, it came medium rare. I had been recommended to go to Stephos for the longest time and each time we tried having food the line up was long so we decided to go back later. A friend of mine recommended me to go between 1-5pm so I didn’t have to wait in the line up. I must say that I had never had such great service and delicious Souvlaki in Vancouver. We tried the Lamp Chops, the Calamari Dinner, Humus and the Lamp Souvlaki amongst the 4 of us. The price is great and the food really fantastic. I recommend this place to everyone and trust me it’s worth a wait in the line up to try this place. Lire plus
